Holy Shit!

I usually don't care about Celebrity news but shit. Travis Barker has always been somewhat of "hero" of mine:

I'm pretty ready for this quarter to be over. It is just one big midterm paper and projects, projects, projects. But to take a bit of advice from
muffinear, I will not complain about my life as a college student. So I look forward instead to hanging out with Jenn and catching some sunshine at the beach.
I started a video log, because all the cool kids are doing it:

The "Human Rights" Campaign is a joke! A sad one at that.

mood: frustrated
I have always been wary of the HRC, the so called "Human Rights" Campaign, which claims to lobby as a campaign group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender rights. Despite its shady marketing ploys and constant junk mail "fundraising", I have until now hoped that the HRC was genuinely concerned with human rights, but their recent position on the new ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act) has left me outraged. The HRC is urging your representatives to pass the new ENDA bill which EXCLUDES protection of gender identity. This bill is making it's way through Congress, and if not stopped, employers will soon be able to dismiss employees because of their gender identity. The HRC is neglecting an integral part of the queer community claiming that an injury to one is of little concern to all. IS THIS MAKING YOU ANGRY? DO SOMETHING!

What can you do about it?:

from the National Center for Lesbian Rights
I don't claim to know everything about this issue, but I'm trying to gain as much knowledge as possible. Check out indymedia.org for news and publish your own freaking news!! Spread this message around. Keep your ears, eyes, minds, and hearts open friends and find your TRUE allies.

I'm going to miss working in the labs, there is a film class that meets every tuesday afternoon. They have the most engrossing discussions about society, networking, and human communication. The eavesdropper that I am, I had to pipe up and put my two cents in about the "3rd place", which is an essential, natural element of cafes. The 3rd place is not home or work, it's the "3rd place" of relaxation. They were disgruntled that Starbucks puts this in their policy and training as a goal to create the 3rd place.....for sure I whipped out my barista nun-chucks....
hmm..what else..I kinda sorta like my hair (or lack thereof) right now. After work, I'm heading to Zami for dinner and my interview. Wish me good luck!
